ANNOUNCING THE SECOND ANNUAL NEWSONG SERIES IN BRYANT PARK

MAY 6, NEW YORK, NEW YORK. Let there be Song. Outdoors. Free. On Wednesday, May 13, the ‘NewSong Performing Songwriter Series’ returns to Bryant Park for a weekly evening concert series featuring some of today’s most promising emerging artists - and Mountain Stage NewSong Contest alumni.

“We’re delighted to be returning to Bryant Park this year,” says NewSong director and co-founder Gar Ragland, “and to introduce to its visitors a roster of very talented singer-songwriters. As a venue, the Park is unparalleled in Manhattan for its beauty as an outdoor performance space, and for its ability to connect artists with many new fans.”

Concerts will be held each Wednesday through June 24, and begin at 6:00 PM at the Fountain Terrace in the park.

Mountain Stage NewSong Contest Update

2008 Mountain Stage NewSong Contest Co-winner Jeff Ellis joined the Derek Trucks Band, Dr. Dog and Scrapomatic on a recent live Mountain Stage show in Charleston, WV.

Ellis, a native of Huntington, West Virginia, is the third co-winner from 2008 to appear on the Mountain Stage since last October's finals. Previous co-winners who have already appeared are Canada's Jacob & Lily (October 12) and New York's Kelleigh McKenzie (January 18).
