FestivALL
Charleston, which takes place June 24 to 26, is a three-day
event intended to promote the charms of West Virginia's capital city
of Charleston, West Virginia.
The finalists will compete on Sunday June 26 from 4:40 - 6:00 PM at the Haddad Riverfront Park Stage in Downtown Charleston.

PRIZES: Finalists will compete live in a finals round
Sunday, June 26 at FestivALL at Haddad Riverfront Park in downtown
Charleston, W.Va. The top winner becomes one of the finalists in the
NewSong Contest finals at the Mountain Stage NewSong Festival Aug.
27 in Shepherdstown. The grand-prize winner of that contest performs
on a NewSong Festival-ending performance of "Mountain Stage" Aug.
28, later to be broadcast internationally.

CONTEST PHILOSOPHY: The purpose of the Mountain Stage NewSong
Contest is to offer recognition and support to the best unsigned performing
songwriters we can find. The contest seeks out singer-songwriters in all genres
who not only write great songs but deliver them powerfully. We’re looking
for the whole package, the finest marriage of songwriting and live performance.
The NewSong Contest culminates on Saturday night, August 27, when the
Contest Finalists chosen from preliminary rounds (including the FestivALL
Charleston regional contest) will perform two original songs each before
a live audience and a panel of music industry judges. At all rounds,
judges will give equal weight in scoring to the quality of the performance
and the quality of the song.

PRIZES & SPOILS: The winner of the Festivall Charleston
regional contest will go to the finals of the NewSong Contest, where a total
of $1,800 in cash prizes will be awarded Aug. 27 in Shephersdtown and one finalist
will be chosen to perform Aug. 28 on a NewSong festival-ending live Mountain
Stage.
Contestants who come to the attention of NewSong judges and music industry
reps also have a shot at performing in NewSong showcases and regional concerts
across America, as well as being heard on future NewSong recordings and Mountain
Stages broadcasts.
Just by entering the 2005 NewSong Contest you are automatically considered
for a possible NewSong Showcase slot during the 2005 festival in Shepherdstown.

pick you out and let you know!
