The dates for 2007 have yet to be announced. Information below is from last year's (2006) fifth annual festival. Stay tuned. . . The Fifth Annual Mountain Stage NewSong Festival (2006 info)! We’re delighted to return to Shepherdstown once again this year for the fifth annual Mountain Stage NewSong Festival. And the folks in Shepherdstown are looking forward to hosting us and supporting our music! The dates for this year's festival are Friday, August 25 - Sunday, August 27. You may order tickets online by clicking here. Once again the Festival will host the live round and national finals of this year’s Mountain Stage NewSong Contest. The live round will take place on Saturday, August 26 in venues in downtown Shepherdstown. The national finals of this year’s contest will take place that evening, also at the Frank Center. There, national finalist from across the nation will compete for a chance to perform on an internationally broadcast Mountain Stage Show. There will also be open mics, the popular Blue Cardinal Café, and numerous impromptu opportunities to perform across town and around campfires. On Sunday, August 27 our ‘NewSong In the Park’ returns once again to Morgan’s Grove Park. The stage will feature numerous showcases throughout the day, including songwriting org showcases (BSA, SAW, Tribes Hill, etc) and feature performances of some of last year’s contest winners (Meg Hutchinson, KJ Denhert, Clinton Collins, etc). There will also be at least a few surprise appearances from some NewSong favorites! The Importance of Community Without the participation and partnership that comes from songwriting organizations, NewSong wouldn’t exist as the strong community of artists and fans that it is. NewSong depends on its partners in order to achieve its mission of truly being a community of communities. We hope you’ll continue to help make NewSong a success by encouraging as much participation from your members as possible. This includes not only enrolling in the Academy, or registering for the live round of the contest, but also volunteering to work hand in hand with us to produce the most memorable and enjoyable event as possible.
