EARLY BIRD FAQS

I submitted in time to be considered for the 'Early Bird' finalist spots of the general round. What happens if I'm not selected?

If you submitted online by midnight April15, or if your mail-in submission(s) were postmarked no later than April 15, 2006, then your entries are currently being considered. If you're selected, you'll be one of two Early Bird finalists who advances directly to the 2006 Mountain Stage NewSong Contest Finals on Saturday, August 26, 2006.

If you're not selected, don't fret. Your entry (entries) will remain in the pool of entries to fill the remaining advance round finalist spots, which will be announced on July 15, 2006 on this website and in our newsletter.

When will the Early Bird Finalists be announced?

May 15. Right here on the website and in our newsletter.

Is the 'Early Bird' a part of the general advance round of the NewSong Contest?

Precisely. The two 'Early Bird' finalist spots are our way of rewarding you guys who were on the ball and submitted on or before April 15.

REGIONAL ROUND FAQs

Can I submit to both a regional round AND the general round?

Yes. Submission to a regional round of the NewSong Contest is separate from the general round.

How many regional rounds are there this year?

Three. The Metro DC Round, the West Virginia Round, and the NewSong New York! Round.

• To be eligible for the Metro DC Round, you must reside in Washington, DC, Virginia or Maryland.
• To be eligible for the West Virginia Round, you must reside in West Virginia.
• Eligibility requirements for the New York Regional Round will be announced soon, as w're still ironing out the details.

Will there be additional regional rounds of the NewSong Contest in the future?

We certainly hope so! We're currently working on setting up a couple of additional regional rounds. If you have any ideas or suggestions on a new regional round, please let us know by emailing us at contest@newsongfestival.com.
