"What an experience I had at NewSong, to think I almost didn't go because I had to pass on a paying gig at home. I loved meeting so many talented people who genuinely love music and songwriting from the moment I arrived.

The number of hits to my website has been phenomenal since winning and I have received requests from radio stations as far away as Italy and the Virgin Islands asking for copies of my discs." -KJ

DANIEL LEE

Oakton, VA
www.danielleemusic.com

Daniel Lee was the winner of the -2005 Metro DC Regional Round, which automatically advanced him to the NewSong Contest finals.

MICHAEL SHERIDAN
(General Round Finalist)
Portland, OR
www.michaelmeanwhile.com

"NewSong 2005 was such a great experience. A beautiful town filled with people who just love music and want to build a community around that love. It is a great way to approach songwriting and a hell of a way to spend an August weekend." - Michael

MEG HUTCHINSON
(Early Bird Finalist)
Cambridge, MA
www.meghutchinson.com

Meg was selected one of two 2005 Early Bird Finalists.

"It’s clear when an event is run by musicians and founded on the idea of community and of truly supporting developing artists. The Mountain Stage NewSong Contest has this kind of integrity and I feel honored to have participated in the contest.

I was very impressed with the attention to detail; great engineers, wonderful staff and truly inspiring songwriters. I’ve made some great friends as a result of NewSong." - Meg

CLINT COLLINS
(Live Round Finalist)
Bluefield, WV
www.clintoncollins.com

Persistence pays. Clint first competed last year in the FestivALL Charleston Regional Round.

While he didn't win the regional (which would have advanced him directly to the finals) he re-entered the NewSong Contest via the Live Round where he was chosen as one of two live round finalists.

In the finals, he won one of the five co-winner spots. Nice work on all fronts, Clint.

"NewSong is just a joyous time for songwriters, music, and inspiration. As a co-winner of the 2005 Contest, it was an honor to perform alongside such gifted artist on all levels. The staff and volunteers of NewSong are the best and help to create an atmosphere of encouragement.

Being part of this festival has allowed me to focus more on my own skills and artistry. If you’re serious about songwriting or just want to hear some of the best music around, this is the place to be." - Clint
