Unlike most song contests, the NewSong Contest values artists’ unique presentation as much as the universal qualities of their tunes. The contest is part of NewSong’s greater mission to build a supportive community of performers at all levels of skill, to encourage up-and-coming players and to showcase the finest work by singer-songwriters for listeners who love this kind of music. There are a number of ways to participate in the contest; through the general round, the live round, or one of the regional rounds. The general round is now closed for submission (ended June 15), but spots are still available in the live round. For artists living in NY, NJ and CT, the deadline for the NewSong New York! regional round is July 15.
 The Mountain
Stage NewSong Contest is open to performing songwriters
of all genres and levels. All submitted material must be original,
either soley written or co-written by the artist. All songs must
be sung by the writer or co-writer.The Mountain Stage NewSong Contest is ultimately a celebration of performing songwriters. NewSong's aim is to work hand-in-hand with its contest winners to advance their careers and craft to a broader audience. We're constantly developing new, meaningful ways to do this. In addition to the international exposure of being on a Mountain Stage Radio Broadcast, we've recently launched our own record label, NewSong Recordings.
