NewSong is delighted to offer FREE camping to all Academy Registrants and Festival passholders at beautiful 20-acre Morgan's Grove Park, in historic Shepherdstown, WV. Here, you'll enjoy plentiful jams in the campground, featuring original music from across the country and showcases in the pavilion on Sunday, Aug. 28, during the free "Music in the park" from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Downtown Shepherdstown, site of the evening concert, contest, open mic and showcase venues, is a short bike, drive or shuttle from the park. Bring your bikes - Shepherdstown is great for biking (including the C&O Canal Towpath, right outside of town).
Camping is on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can pick your spot immediately upon arrival and on-site registration. Your camping coordinator is NewSong co-founder Gary Reynolds. For more information on Morgan's Grove Park, click here.
Arrival/Departure Times: Campers are permitted to arrive no earlier than 5 p.m. Tuesday evening, August 23, and may stay at Morgan's Grove no later than 10 a.m., Monday, August 29.
Showers: As at past NewSong campgrounds, solar showers will be available in Morgan's Grove Park. Also, Shepherd University has kindly offered to NewSong participants the use of the gym showers at Sara Cree Hall during specified times (to be announced soon).
Transportation to and from Morgan's Grove:
NewSong is currently working with the town of Shepherdstown
to offer a complimentary shuttle service between various NewSong Festival
venues. So if you're camping, you can park your car upon arrival and
leave the driving to NewSong!
